My computer keeps restarting when I play Sims 3?

So I bought a refurbished computer off Amazon. I installed Sims 3 on it and three times the computer has restarted when I was in create a sim. All three times it happened when I enhanced the graphics on it. I think it's just the graphics card, but I'm not sure. Help please?
